About Janeane Reagan, PhD:

Janeane Reagan, PhD is a retired clinical psychologist who grew up in west central New York State buying and selling horses with her father, Jim Reagan. They marketed their sale horses by showing them in local shows. She showed English, Western, Hunters, ponies and drove whatever came into their barn.

After college, she and her husband started their own little Morgan farm in Ohio where they bred, trained, and showed their Morgans in breed shows and carriage shows. Starting in the mid 80’s, she began presenting workshops on sports psychology for equestrians across the country and at the Swedish National Morgan Horse Weekend. She has worked with individual riders and drivers on methods to improve their performance and get over performance blocks. She has also given presentations at the USET Advanced Driver and Developing Driver Clinics.

Prior to retirement, Janeane wrote sports psychology articles for several equestrian magazines including Driving Digest. In 2013 she published “Rein in Your Brain: Do-it-yourself Mental Training for Riders and Drivers.” Her goal in writing the book was to provide a sports psychology approach that any rider or driver could apply to their own discipline, whether they were a recreational equestrian, a competitor, or a professional. Rein in Your Brain continues to sell throughout the English-speaking countries around the world.

In recent years, Janeane has written several short stories and this past August, she published a novel based on real events, The Horse That Paid It Forward. Dr. Reagan continues to drive competitively and lives with her husband Bernie Greenberg in Central Florida with their cat, Lolli.
